Luis Fernando Machado was appointed Head of the Division for Technology Promotion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil in December 2017. He coordinates the “Innovation Diplomacy” program at the Brazilian Chancellery and oversees the work of 54 sectors of STI in the Brazilian diplomatic and consular missions abroad and the participation of Brazil in bilateral commissions and multilateral initiatives of STI. Luis Fernando Machado holds a Bachelor degree in Law from the Federal University of Rio Grande/RS (2001), a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Brasília/DF (2005) and a MBA in Oil and Gas from Robert Gordon University, Scotland (2015). He also holds a postgraduate degree in Public International Law and in Private International Law from ‘The Hague Academy of International Law’, headquartered in the Netherlands (2002).
