Prof. Dr Jaqueline Goes de Jesus

A postdoctoral researcher at Institute of Tropical Medicine of the University of São Paulo Medical School, Dr Jaqueline Goes de Jesus has a B.Sc. in Biomedicine from the Bahia School of Medicine and Public Health, an M.Sc. in Biotechnology in Health and Research from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and a PhD in Human Experimental Pathology from the Federal University of Bahia. Dr Goes de Jesus develops research in the field of emergent arboviruses such as Zika, dengue and yellow fever. A fellow at the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (Fapesp), Dr Jaqueline Goes de Jesus won national projection by leading, along with Professor Ester Sabino, director of IMT, the team that sequenced the coronavirus genome in Brazil, in a record time of 48 hours – while, around the world, scientists usually take, on average, two weeks.
